Colombian singer Shakira will be back in Bucharest this summer, but not for a concert. She will be in the stands for the Dinamo – FC Barcelona football match scheduled for August 11 at the National Arena in the Romanian capital city, according to Romanian sports media. She will jet into Bucharest on August 10, to support her boyfriend Gerard Pique, who plays center back for Barcelona.
Shakira had a concert in Romania last year, when she sang in the rain in front of 20,000. The Colombian artist had another concert in Timisoara six years ago, also gathering an audience of 20,000.
The football match Dinamo – FC Barcelona will be an international friendly game. This will only be third time that FC Barcelona have ever played in Romania, and the first time after the fall of the communism. In 1971, they faced Steaua in the round of 16 of the Cup Winners Cup. FC Barcelona returned in 1977, once again to face Steaua Bucharest, this time in the UEFA Cup round of 32.
