Shakira's new album to be more funky

Shakira talked Wednesday about her new album which will be released in October. The CD will be "fun with dance, disco and electronic sounds".

Colombia's superstar appeared at her press conference more mature, with a different styling and two and a half hours too late, local media reported.

Like Shakira's new looks, her new CD will be different than anything else she did before. "It's a different album, the rhythms [...] are mainly electronic and dance. I still like to merge music from India and other cultures, also with references to the Carnival of Barranquilla," Colombia's biggest superstar told El Tiempo in an interview.

Shakira and Nelly Furtado Tease Us with New Singles

If you’re not careful, Shakira’s "La Loba" will have you howling at the moon. As the first single from her as-yet-untitled upcoming album (out Sept. 25), it gives listeners a taste of what’s to come while leaving us eager for more. The dance floor–ready track has a strong disco feel (you can almost imagine the lights swirling around), as well as some serious heavy breathing and dictionary-worthy lyrics. "Quién no ha querida a una diosa licántropa" is one of the opening lines and, yes, it includes the word “licántropa,” which, according to Merriam-Webster, means "a delusion that one has become or assumed the characteristics of a werewolf."

Shakira's Feeling Wolfy!!

Our Latina Lady has been hard at work perfecting two new albums. That's right... two!! The first album to be released will be in English followed by one in Spanish two months later. A release date for the album has not been confirmed yet, but expect your hips to be moving a lot in the next few weeks!

It has been rumored that Shakira has been spotted in Los Angeles shooting the video for a new song entitled, "La Loba," translated to "She Wolf" in English. The pop-sensation has released a promotional version of her song as fans anxiously wait for the full version.

The buzz is that her new album is going to be called "We'll Never Know" and it features hot artists like, the American heartthrob, Pharell and the rapper Wycleaf Jean-who we saw in the smash hit, "Hips Don't Lie."

The song is very different from what we have heard so far from the singer. It is of course, very upbeat, but it has a new disco and electro-pop feel to it. Take a listen below to the Spanish version and let us know what you think. Are you excited to hear what the "She Wolf" is up to?

13 seconds of Shakira's new single She Wolf

Colombia's biggest pop star Shakira will be releasing her new single She Wolf next Monday. If you want to know what the single is going to sound like, here's a 13-second, high-quality snippet for you.

Apart from some noises in the end, the snippet has none of Shakira's voice or the melody of the song. What is does have is an old school disco / breakdance beat.

Shakira Is A Wolf And SHE WILL EAT YOU

It’s true. Last week, two eyewitness videos appeared on YouTube showing the diminutive singer grievously attacking two men in New York City. Now literally fives of YouTubers across the globe have posted similar videos, in which many of the attackers don’t actually resemble Shakira in any way.

We can only conclude that Shakira is a shapeshifter and that you, reader, may be in danger even as you read this.

Look around you. Shakira could be anything - your Adam Lambert poster, your diet pills, any one of your porcelain unicorn figurines. If you suspect a unicorn figurine of being Shakira, DO NOT engage it in a phoned-in, atonal rap.

We haven’t heard from Wyclef Jean in days. And this is so unexpected. We assumed that Shakira Shakira Beyonce Beyonce Benecol Alhambras was lounging on some irradiated Colombian beach, dreaming up another album’s worth of songs about horses and thongs, advising Gordon Brown on public policy, and popping out her ribcage for passing children.

Having been born in Colombia, I find Shakira’s campaign to improve access to early-childhood education throughout Latin American countries to be commendable; more so if we consider that she has donated her own money.Local citizens know, however, that individual philanthropic projects have always failed to change the systemic structural problem in Latin America: a myopic, selfish, entrenched governing class that for decades and generations has failed to understand that raising and improving the economic and social conditions of the bulk of the population — starting with access to early-childhood education and health care — would improve the economic welfare of the entire country and in turn would have increased the economic standing of the already-wealthy.One just hopes that the current interest of the Latin American elites in early-childhood education has a more enduring and lasting commitment than the temporary fashion as promoted by a pop singer.

But while you're not really doing anything, you may as well check out Alisson Orozco, in Colombia already called the new Shakira.Little is known about the pretty girl, she's allegedly 15 years old and from Valledupar in the north east of Colombia.

She only recently finished her first album 'Solo para ti' (Just for you) on Discos Fuentes, Colombia's legendary record label, that hasn't even had the time to finish her website before this article was published.

Her first single is out and is called 'El Despertador' (the alarm clock) and, looking at this amateur recording of Alisson, she even speaks English. So go ahead, enjoy Alisson while she's still less famous than Shakira.

Shakira -who is outspoken about and fervently proud of her Arab roots - has agreed to sing a duet with Arab American singer Danya Yousef. The song will talk of Arab and Muslim stereotyping and in the West and address common misconceptions.

The music video for the duet will be filmed in Dubai under American direction and is scheduled to be released sometime in 2009. We need more of these projects that cater to both sides of the world at the same time deliver an outstanding message!

Websites and bloggers disagree on the exact title of the song, but if you click here you can listen to Shakira's new work.

Sony-BMG confirmed recently that Shakira will release a new single at the end of June. The single will be released in both English and Spanish.

The Grammy Award-winning singer has been dogged by speculation that she was unhappy with executives at Epic records, with Internet gossip claiming she feels "neglected" by her current managers and has been courting other labels, reports dailystar.co.uk.

A publicist for the Colombian star however insists she has no plans to leave her musical home."(The rumours are) not true. She's very happy at Epic," said the representative
